Traditional Touches at a Real Wedding at the Museum of Biblical Art

Jesus muralI often ask people what is the most important thing to them on their wedding day.  Katy and Brian gave me the best answer I’ve ever heard, “To include God in our wedding day.”  And that we did!  Both Katy and Brian are members of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, which is one of the prettiest churches in Dallas – such gorgeous stained glass adorns the sanctuary.  I wanted to match the beauty of the church with their wedding venue, and so we booked The Museum of Biblical Art for their reception.  This stunning museum has one of the largest collections of biblical art in the world, and Katy and Brian were surrounded by priceless sculptures and paintings.  Guests dined and danced the night away in the Chagall Ballroom, among works of art featured by Barbara Hines.  Katy also graduated from TCU, and wanted to incorporate the color purple, and TCU mascot into the wedding.  In addition to shades of purple flowers, Katy chose a stunning satin purple sash for her dress.  Her mother loaned her a stunning amethyst bracelet, and incredible pearl earrings and necklace for her wedding jewelry.  The groom and his men also sported purple in their vests and pocket squares.  And a final nod to TCU was the purple frog on the grooms cake!  It was a magical evening, and we know that Katy and Brian will put God first in their lives and marriage, and they will have a very happy future indeed!  (July 18, 2015)
