Summer Wedding at The Brooks at Weatherford with All White Flowers

The Brooks at Weatherford

Kiana and Danny recently were married at The Brooks at Weatherford, (Home - The Brooks at Weatherford) a fantastic wedding venue west of Ft. Worth. The Brooks at Weatherford is the coolest venue with open air windows, leading out onto the patio (but still have plenty of air conditioning) and a darling white chapel. The chapel is open air, but has incredible huge fans hanging from the ceiling, so even if it’s hot, it’s quite comfortable.

The Bride and Groom

Kiana was a dream client! Not only a gorgeous bride, but she was so sweet, and her mom was fantastic! And she married an upstanding man in Danny. He comes from a great family and his dad was the officiant for the wedding. It was very touching. We also loved Kiana and Danny, as they have a golden retriever. Which if you know me, you know how I love my goldens. There was an instant connection. Otis was so handsome in his little tux, and his dog handler, Estella with Dogs Fur Life Dogs Fur Life (dogsfurlifellc.com) was fantastic handling their little guy. Estella showed up on time, and was with Otis the entire wedding, even walking Otis up the aisle, where he met with his dad for a quick pet-pet, prior to the bride entering. Then Otis took a seat in the back, never barked, and was rewarded with plenty of treats! I wouldn’t mind being a dog in Kiana & Danny’s family!

The Details and the Photography

We love detail shots: the vow books, the dress, wedding shoes and the wedding rings. It’s all so fun. Cindy Medick Photography Home (cindymedickphotography.com) shot this wedding, and we really love working with her. She provides incredible light and airy photos, and just the right amount of pictures to boot! She’s dependable, very easy to work with, and delivers on time! All great aspects of a photographer.

The First Look

Thinking about having a first look? Let me tell you, it’s a great decision. You and your groom (no peeking by the wedding party!) enjoy time alone, where your groom sees you in your gown for the first time. We love the area that photographer, Cindy Medick chose. Soft colors compliment this couple. After the initial look the bride and groom read their private vows to each other, and there might have been a tear or two.

Otis the Golden

Here he comes! Otis loved walking up the aisle to meet his dad, prior to the bride walking in. He was the ring bearer, and we agree, it was such fun to have this dog at the wedding. Loved how Estella with Dogs Fur Life Dogs Fur Life (dogsfurlifellc.com) took care of him prior to the wedding and during the service. My dog would have barked and barked. Not Otis! He was a perfect gentleman!

Here Comes the Bride

Kiana was ushered in by her brother, Stephen. Look how proud he is of his sister. We love this type of sibling love.

I always recommend that the groom “steals” another kiss from the bride. Check out this dip! Good kiss.

Hey Dad, I’m right here!

Here’s Otis ready to greet his parents right after they got married!

The Chapel

We love this little white clapboard chapel at The Brooks at Weatherford. It’s an open air chapel with pews on each side. Inside they have a large cross that you may use, which we decorated with white roses and greenery. Huge fans will keep you cool while you watch the ceremony. I mean…how cute is this?

The Bridal Party

Kiana and Danny have such a nice set of friends, who were there for them on their wedding day. Good looking group of people, and again, so polite. We adored them!

The Main Room at The Brooks at Weatherford and The Flowers

Once back into the main room at the venue, you are greeted by a huge stone fireplace, which is the focal point of the room. The stained concrete floors are the bomb, and we love that The Brooks at Weatherford provides gorgeous farm tables with chivari chairs. This helps to keep your costs down, as you don’t need to rent these items. You can focus more on the flowers, which is one of our favorite parts of every wedding. We called on John Murray, owner of A Man and A Women Floral a Man & a Woman Floral Design (mwfloraldesign.com) and as usual, he knocked it out of the park! John is not only an amazing florist who can design most anything, but he’s a very nice man. He decorated with mostly white flowers with a hint of blush and greenery for Kiana and Danny. We love the compotes that he created. Inside that small gold compote, you can put a lot of flowers.

The Caterer

Our favorite caterer in Dallas is Wendy Krispin Caterer, Welcome To Wendy Krispin Caterer | We Do This Every Day. She has never once failed me and continues to provide tasty and hot food at every wedding. This wedding she made homemade cornbread croutons for the salad, had a kick ass chicken breast, and beef short ribs with loaded mashed potatoes. Everyone complimented the food, because, why not? And I love working with Wendy, as her staff is one of the best.

The First Dance

Lance Patton, owner of My DFW DJ MY DFW DJ spined the records during the reception. Lance, we have quickly learned, knows his stuff. I would say he’s one of the most respected DJ’s in Dallas, and we love working with him. He will keep your dance floor packed all night. And I think a fear of having a wedding is not that people won’t come, but that people won’t dance. Not when you have Lance as your DJ. They dance!

Sparkler Exit

Sparklers are fun for an exit, even if it makes you nervous like me. We always explain to our guests, to hold their sparklers up high, as we don’t want anyone getting hurt. After many years of doing weddings, we are still “harm free”, happy to say. And couples love leaving with sparklers.
